Root Chakra: Affirmations

The first chakra is Mūlādhāra in traditional sanskrit, or the Root Chakra in Western Holistic Health and is where we can identify energy flow or blockages pertaining to survival, independence and self-sufficiency. For some, this energy is established and grown in our infant development, and some may struggle in establishing a strong root throughout their lives. Time spent working with root energy can vary from person to person.



What is an Affirmation?

Affirmations set intentional thought. They bring attention, or mindfulness to a descriptive trait or action that we might want to build confidence in by improving our self-talk. Affirmations can be set at the beginning of a yoga or reiki practice. We might also call it an intention in those spaces.


You can also use affirmations as a focus point when you are feeling blocked or triggered in any particular chakra. Specific affirmations may work better than others when working through shadows or healing in any specific chakra.
